It’s true… Keith tastes every
wine that we sell at Esprit du Vin! (and yes, he considers
this the hard part of the job!) This way, he knows by taste
what wine will match not only your palate but also your meal.
The fun thing about a small shop like ours is that we’re
not hampered by buying large case-lots of commercial wines.
We specialize in locating wine that’s produced in small
quantities (less than 10 cases) and from artisan wine makers.
So weather you’re looking for the perfect pizza wine,
a house favorite, a wine to celebrate a special event, or
one that will cellar for many years to come, we can help
you with your selection. Fine wine doesn’t have to
be expensive wine.
Champagne, sparkling wines
– Prosecco is our summertime favorite. We carry a
wide selection, from 1988 Krug (magnums too) to Cristal,
as well as many funky Cava’s from Spain.
Rosé – not the sweet stuff your
Aunt Bea drank. We have rosés that are dry, lively, rich
and full bodied. Perfect anytime – from a hot summer
night to your Thanksgiving dinner.
French wines – we carry a good
variety of both current and older vintage Bordeaux’s,
such as Chateau LaTour (1997), Chateau Pichon Barron,
and Cos D’Estournel. For Rhones, a nice choice of
wine from the North; Saint Joseph and Cote Rotie to Domaine
de la Solitude from Chateauneuf du Pape. We have some
cool wines from Provence, Ventoux, Luberon and Cahors,
all in the south of France. If you love Burgundies, (as
we do) we have an eclectic selection of reds and whites,
from Chablis to Beaujolais. We are constantly bringing
in new Burgundies, looking for the hottest vineyards and
the best bargains.
Spanish wines – Clos Magador,
Clos Erasmus, Artadi, Aalto if you are looking for some
collectibles. Or great everyday wines from vineyards like
Castano, Gramona and Castle Remii.
Italian wines – Super Tuscans,
Chianti (some 1997’s left), Barolo (1996, 1998 and
1999), Barbaresco, Brunello, Barbara – a great selection
from the 4-B’s! Ricasoli, Fonterutoli, Brancia and
Frescobaldi to name a few vineyards.
Australia – we offer a wide selection
of David Owens Torrbreck Vineyards, wines from Woodcutters
Red to his famous Struie. Penfolds, Yalumba, Leasingham,
McWilliams, Madfish for fun, everyday drinking. Ringbolt,
a Margaret River cab is one of our favorites.
Argentina/Chile – from a –
z, Alamos to Zapata, always great wines, great values
as well as cool collectibles.
USA – Duckhorn Merlot, Justin
(Justification to Isoceles), Ed Meades Zinfandel, Turley,
Shaefer, Patricia Greene, L’Ecole 41, Artesa, Dashe…
The list goes on and on.
Portugal – we have an excellent
selection of both reds and whites and over 20 different
ports. Our port selection includes over 20 different choices,
from 1957 Barros Colhetta to Warre 2000, the vintage of
vintages.
There are so many delicious wines made, we love to find
new, interesting ones to enjoy. Esprit du Vin rotates
a quarter of our stock each month to keep the selection
fresh, new and interesting. We hope you’ll enjoy
drinking new wines as much as we do.
